Cloud Security Engineer (26353)

Cambridge (with hybrid working)
to £100,000 DoE

Developing security policies via threat modelling for transactional applications

A multinational company has a (small but) growing software team based in Cambridge who work with other development teams to build and deliver cloud and mobile applications used for transparent banking solutions. Their products and features are trusted by millions of users, and central to this is that data is secure and safe from attacks. The Cambridge team are therefore looking for a Cloud Security Engineer to join them to work on either applications or network security.

This role reports directly to the Head of Security, and key projects to work on include developing: threat models and detecting infrastructure perimeter attacks; a sophisticated programming system to ensure security; security policies; and incident responses and threat investigations. Further, the role would require management of vulnerability scans and remediation, and being part of a red team to deliver tabletop compromise exercises.

Requirements:

  • A computer science degree would be beneficial but more important is your background industry experience in security, IT vulnerability and understanding of cloud platform vulnerabilities.
  • Broad understanding of multiple tech stacks (they use Java, Kotlin, Golang and Rust, but general understanding and experience of different OO languages would be sufficient).
  • Demonstrable experience with IT security frameworks and networks on the cloud.
  • Experience with Python programming. Further exposure to Angular or React would be beneficial.

Interested candidates must have full rights to work in the UK. No company sponsorship is available. The role does allow for hybrid working, but there is the expectation to be able to work in their office in Cambridge for at least part of the week.

On offer is a top compensation - your skills and experience are greatly valued and team members are remunerated accordingly.
