Varied technical work based around embedded technologies for instrumentation

Are you an Embedded Software Engineer who’s looking for a new challenge? Would you be interested to work in a consultancy whose main project focus is on developing and building scientific software / hardware products used in medical and healthcare applications? This leading consultancy is recruiting and keen to hire able and experienced embedded engineers to join their team.

You’ll be given projects where you can work independently whilst being supported when required by a wealth of technical and scientific expertise. You’ll therefore be able to manage your workloads and your own time, developing new skills and project experiences. You’ll also have the opportunity to work with clients and provide technical understanding for new and ongoing projects.

Requirements

  • Having graduated with a 1st or 2.1 degree in computer science, electronics or similar, you’ll have demonstrable experience and track record in developing embedded applications.
  • You’ll be comfortable programming in C and / or C++ including bare metal programming and using RTOS. You’ll have some experience with Python. Any experience with embedded Linux would be advantageous.
  • You’ll have worked with hardware devices (sensors, instrumentation) and have a good level of exposure with electronics. This may include experience with wireless connectivity (WiFi, NFC and Bluetooth).

It is expected you’ll have excellent communication skills and a good understanding of how to breakdown a complex problem into solvable technical projects. You’ll be comfortable documenting processes (as required for medical device development) and have the aptitude to pick up new technologies when needed.

In return, on offer is an excellent remunerations package including a competitive salary and a wide range of benefits. Hybrid working is also available with expectations that you would be in the office at least 2 or 3 days per week (this is dependent on projects).
