SaaS helping business achieve carbon neutrality

This is a good opportunity for a skilled Senior Software Engineer to make it easier for businesses to achieve carbon neutrality, whilst enhancing their own career.

This young and growing company has its roots in Cambridge University. They enable companies to identify and assess the risks that rapidly changing global and local climates pose on their business, whilst allowing them to make the best decisions to steer their business towards net zero carbon. The demand for their expertise and mathematical models has risen sharply in the last couple of years and having already secured Series A funding for their SaaS products, they are well on their way to securing their next funding round.

They now seek a skilled Senior Software Engineer with proven skills in building SaaS platforms in a commercial setting. This product has an API as the back-end and a web-based dashboard at the front-end. The mathematical models are often written in Python and so Software Engineers with good knowledge of Django, REST and Flask frameworks as well as the Dash UX toolkit would be of particular interest.

In this senior position, the ideal candidate will be happy to lead small teams and would also be comfortable interacting with clients directly, including gathering information on requirements and presenting information on progress and outcomes to colleagues and external stakeholders alike. They must be able to produce clean, well-structured object-oriented code and mentor more junior engineers.

In return, the company offers a highly competitive salary and performance related annual bonus and share options. They are based in modern offices in the centre of Cambridge and flexible, hybrid working is available.

  • Substantial commercial full stack coding experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and a desire to lead and inspire small teams, planning skills and a commitment to delivery.

Full right to work in the UK without time limit or sponsorship will also be necessary.

  • Good understanding of and conversant with PostgreSQL, MVC/ORM with Django and/or Flask.
