Consultant Biochemist (26443)

This highly innovative, successful company works on a range of multidisciplinary projects in scientific applications and instrumentation. This includes the development of miniature chemical and biological platforms, analytical tools and super-sensitive diagnostics for a range of from large pharma companies to new drug discovery start-ups.

This key role is for an enthusiastic, hands-on Biochemist with both an aptitude and interest in commercial development. You will have excellent academic credentials, broad specific aptitude and interests, an intuitive grasp of fundamental scientific principles, and demonstrable drive and commitment.

We are looking for a specific individual who has:

• An excellent academic profile, with a PhD and 1st or 2.1 degree from a highly-ranked world-class university.
• Evidence of developing novel technologies in areas such as surface organic chemistry, biophysics, drug discovery platforms and spectroscopy.
• The wish to pursue a mixed role where you balance technical lab work with working with clients.
• An interest in business, leading to knowledge of current applied life science commercial trends.

Note that we are not looking for niche research experience; it is your applied skills and relevant project work in this area that we’re looking for. Similarly, a long publication list or conferences you’ve attended is not as relevant, we prefer to see papers that you made considerable contributions to and / or conferences you’ve spoken at.
