Working on large-scale health and biodata resources for global healthcare

This growing company is at the forefront of big health data, providing a central resource for health and genomic biodata that allows their clients to develop new drug discoveries and support clinical decision-making. They are recruiting for an AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer to join their software team to provide expertise in design, architecture and implementation of serverless workloads and pipelines on the AWS platform.

Requirements:

  • Experience developing and delivering robust and secure AWS based architecture including in-depth knowledge of IAM (identity and access management) and cloud networking.
  • Strong understanding of Lambda, Python and BOTO3 framework, as well as Terraform and GitLab.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of CI/CD, ensuring stability, reliability, information security, and experience of automation tooling and workflow mapping.
  • As data is health-based, a working knowledge of GDPR policies is expected.

The role is fully remote, so candidates must be able to work independently and manage their own workloads whilst being able to collaborate with a team and support broader team projects. The team does meet once every two months in Cambridge for a technical briefing and social dinner, so candidates should be UK based. They are also unable to offer sponsorship, so only candidates with full right to work in the UK without time limit or sponsorship will be considered.

In return, our client provides an excellent opportunity to join and work on greenfield DevOps technology applications. The company gives autonomy to their employees, allowing them to prioritise tasks within a broader delivery timescale. They also offer share options to employees, giving the team a true sense of ownership of their work and a real interest in the success of the company.
