Move into a management position, backed by your C++ and C# skills

If you have a solid background in C++ or C# and Agile methodology but you are looking to move away from “hands-on” development work, this could be the managerial opportunity your career has been waiting for.

Our client is an instrumentation company in the pharmaceutical sector who are growing a team of skilled software developers. They are looking for someone with a background in either Computer Science or instrumentation to take on the technical management of the software development lifecycle, leading the team to successfully deliver key milestones for the company.

You will help the team to produce high-quality code, assist them set challenging targets for themselves and encourage them to make the most of their technical skills. You will also run projects and be comfortable running daily stand-up meetings, organising development sprints. You need excellent people skills and the ability to communicate and manage all stakeholders in the process.

The friendly team, based at their site in Cambridge, supports flexible working hours and career development for all their employees.

You will need:

  • An impressive background in either Computer Science or similar technical field, backed by a good degree (2.1 or above) from a well-respected university.
  • A deep understanding and experience of Agile (Scrum/Kanban) software delivery, project management and the software development cycle
  • An interest in leading or managing software teams and excellent communication skills
  • A background in C# or C++, will be needed and skills in embedded software would also be an advantage
