Developing next generation communication technologies

Do you have a wealth of knowledge in the technology communications sector? Are you still a hands-on software engineer? Would you like to work on next generation technology projects?

This well-supported group of engineers are working alongside partners to leverage their expertise to develop new communication technologies that can be the must-have components in the next generation (and beyond) devices. Their forward-thinking approach to problem solving allows them to create solutions for new system architectures and prototype designs. Some innovations will be incremental for optimisation, but others will be game-changers. In this role, you’ll collaboratively work with others in the team as well as external stakeholders to bring solutions to fruition.

  • You’ll have a degree in electronics, computer science or similar and subsequently gained extensive experience as an embedded software engineer.
  • You are still a hands-on programmer, and have high proficiency with embedded C. You most likely also have experience with a wide range of languages including C++, Python and possibly C# or Rust.
  • You’ll be familiar with hardware and know your way around oscilloscopes and micro-controller debuggers. You may even have experience with RTOS and down to bare-metal programming for microcontrollers.
  • Ideal past experience will include: writing bootloaders and working with SPI, I2C, or UART/RS232

The team are based in offices outside of Cambridge. They are part of a company that looks to support employees and encourages participation from all in idea generation. They look to provide the best tools so you can do your best work. They offer flexibility to provide a good work-life balance as well as an excellent compensation package including profit-related bonus, enhanced employer pension contributions, private medical insurance (including for your dependants) and even a relocation package for qualifying candidates.
