Apply your IP knowledge and technical background in a fast-paced business role

Technical awareness in high-tech engineering, and knowledge of IP especially patents, is required for this business development role. You will be business-minded and keen to engage in “soft” sales. You’ll apply your own intelligence and initiative. You will survey the market and network with senior staff at major tech companies. There is no cold calling. You will have a proactive, positive approach backed by your credentials in technical consultancy. You will welcome variety, pace, and the chance to grow your expertise and introduce companies who will work well together into the future.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Research into new and current markets, mapping out areas of overlap, and growing strategic and targeted campaigns.
  • Selecting key business opportunities and progressing them.
  • Refining your toolset, and reporting progress and results.

To apply, you will need a genuine interest in technology, and a breadth of technological awareness particularly around high tech consumer products and/or technology used in infrastructure, for example, energy, comms, health tech, FMCG. You may have gained this through your work in business development for a technical consultancy. You will absolutely have a strong knowledge of IP, most especially patents and the fine points of their benefits and limitations.

Please note: even if you don’t have interest in business development indicated, do contact us now if you have a strong technical background – we may well have other opportunities that you would be suited to. And of course, we always get your permission before submitting your CV to a company.
