Remote role with periodic office meet-ups

Are you expert in embedded C++ and seeking a role where you can work remotely?

This growing start-up already has products commercially available and is working on new ones. Their flexible culture allows staff to work remotely, periodically visiting their Cambridge office for tools and materials or to collaborate with colleagues. You would be working on high-performance, secure software to facilitate next-generation mobile communications.

As part of an Agile development team, you would be involved throughout the SDLC, helping design and implement new features and improvements using robust, efficient C++, and finding solutions to solve real-world problems.

You will need:

  • A strong academic background with a 1st or 2.1 in a relevant STEM subject such as Computer Science or Electronics
  • Substantial experience in creating complex commercial-grade embedded software using modern OO C++ (14 onwards); you should also be familiar with use of the Gnu toolchain and building software for Linux
  • Knowledge of 4G or 5G comms, Agile development, and preferably also Kubernetes
  • Full existing right to work in the UK
  • You will also need to be able to attend the Cambridge office as needed, so you must live, or be able to move close to Cambridge

It’s not essential, but expertise with extended Berkeley Packet Filters would be an advantage.

This is a great opportunity to join a thriving start-up, working on challenging projects that will enable new capabilities and services for large numbers of people. It’s also a rare opportunity to work from home on embedded software development. A competitive salary and benefits package are on offer to the successful candidate.
