Electronics Engineering Consultant (27267)

Cambridge - South
to c£60,000 DoE + Benefits

Take your next career steps, working in MedTech on varied projects

Are you looking to increase your responsibilities and take a pro-active role on multidisciplinary MedTech hardware projects? This established consultancy is looking to recruit and is hiring for an Electronics Engineering Consultant.

The electronics team is a small, dedicated group. Individually or as pairs (depending on projects), they work with mechanical engineers, software developers, applied scientists and / or human factor engineers to deliver electro-mechanical products and technologies used within healthcare sector. These products can be small, handheld devices with micro-, motor-controllers and batteries, or larger instruments with PCBs, FPGAs and power units. As their next Electronics Engineering Consultant, you will have demonstrable experience as a product development engineer, working on a range of electronics and be at a place where you can undertake reasonably complex projects on your own, whilst still being open to gaining experience on more complicated electronics engineering.

Requirements:

  • 1st / 2.1 in Electronics or similar and demonstrable industry experience as an electronics engineer on a range of different projects / products.
  • Experience with PCB design, ideally using Altium Designer.
  • Experience with firmware, including writing embedded C / C++ for small product devices.
  • Understanding of low noise analogue circuit design and EMC for electrical safety.
  • Project experience working in a well-regulated industry sector (ideally MedTech, but also defence and aero sector experience would be considered).
  • Experience with FPGA development using Verilog would be highly desirable.
  • Prior engineering consultancy experience would be advantageous.

As project teams are multidisciplinary, good communication skills are needed. Aptitude and an open-to-learning approach are also expected. Work can be varied, from system integration of off-the-shelf hardware components to digital electronics design.

Highly qualified candidates who can meet the requirements and who need company sponsorship will be considered.

On offer is an excellent remunerations package including a wide range of benefits. Due to the nature of projects, work is typically onsite. There is flexibility, but this is dependent on what is required for the project (some homeworking could be possible but is not contractual).
