Procurement Specialist (27431)
This role is with a growing company with involvement in technology development for national security. It will see you managing supplier relationships, negotiating terms, seeking approvals, and of course ultimately sourcing, purchasing and tracking components. Group liaison and asset management also form part of the role, along with workflow improvements, budgeting, and compliance.
You will have a degree qualification (or equivalent experience), along with:
- Experience in procurement, in supply chains, or as a buyer; either in electronics, mechanical engineering, manufacturing or a comparable sector.
- A track record of negotiating well, to ensure competitive pricing and a positive outcome towards negotiated terms and conditions.
- The ability to review technical specifications, liaise with engineers, and ensure procurement needs are clarified.
- Familiarity with procurement software systems, purchase order and invoicing workflow, and inventory management.
- Exceptional communication and organisational skills, with accuracy, precision and attention to detail.
- Confident multitasking skills, and a proactive and problem-solving mindset, able to work quickly and circumnavigate challenges.
Any further experience in the defence sector (or aerospace, robotics, or other hardware-focused contexts) is beneficial, as is knowledge of customs documentation and export controls, restricted materials, electronic/mechanical components, ERP and MRP systems and related software, logistics. A CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply) qualification is also an asset.
Due to the nature of their work, applicants must be eligible for UK security clearance. This role is full time at their Cambridge area offices.
