Lead Software Test Engineer (27661)

Cambridge
to £70,000 DoE + Benefits

Developing testing plans and protocols for regulated medical software

This multidisciplinary team of engineers is seeking a talented engineer to lead their software verification programme reporting directly to the head of software. You will be responsible for all software testing procedures within the company from developing test plans and test infrastructure to collaborating with software engineers integrating testing into the development workflow to reviewing test reports and presenting results internally and externally. Additionally, the products developed here are intended for the medical industry and require a more stringent than typical compliance process which you will have to integrate into the systems you build.

Outside the technical challenges of this role, you will be responsible for driving a culture of continuous quality across the software team and acting as the company’s public face in these activities. This will see you working closely with internal software developers as well as stakeholders and external clients, reinforcing best practices and upholding the company’s reputation for excellence.

Requirements:

  • Commercial experience in software verification including developing and maintaining automated test frameworks and test infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of Continuous Integration principles and systems coupled with real-world CI/CD pipeline development experience
  • Strong skills with Python, shell scripting and git as well as a good working knowledge of Linux and Linux administration
  • Computer Science degree or other relevant engineering degree

Additional knowledge or experience working in a regulated industry (ideally medical) or working with hardware-in-the-loop software testing would be beneficial.

Based in rural surroundings south of Cambridge this company offers a friendly and lively workplace and a highly supportive career programme making them an excellent place to continue growing your career. Remunerations are strong and hybrid working is the norm with one or two days per week at home.
