Consultant Engineer - HealthTech (27692)

Cambridge
to £60,000 DoE + Benefits

Transition from engineering into business development

Are you an electronics or mechanical engineer? Have you been working on advanced surgical devices or biosensors? Would you like to be more involved in business development? Then read on.

This highly regarded engineering company based in Cambridge is seeking talented engineers with technical knowledge in the HealthTech sector who want a more client facing and commercially focused role. You will initially work as an engineer and in time develop your commercial knowledge and understanding until you are working primarily in business development. Your transition will be fully supported both by other business development professionals and engineers.

Long term you will be using your expert technical knowledge to help build relationships across the HealthTech sector and bring technical credibility to early-stage business development conversations. Further you will help create compelling proposals for new products and technologies and help identify new areas for long-term growth.

You must have:

  • Commercial experience in the HealthTech sector developing advanced surgical devices, biosensors or closely related HealthTech devices.
  • Very strong academic background in electronics or mechanical engineering with at least a master’s and ideally a relevant PhD or postdoctoral experience.
  • Clear and obvious desire to transition into a commercially focused business development role.
  • Excellent communications skills, able to discuss technical ideas and solutions to experts in the field as well as non-technical upper management.

You will be primarily located at their recently built and well-appointed offices on the outskirts of Cambridge. Travel to conferences and customers around the UK, Europe and the USA is a key aspect of this role and so you should expect to be out of the office regularly. Remunerations are good and come with clear career growth potential. Other benefits include annual bonuses, enhanced pension and private medical insurance.

Please note: even if you don't have exactly the background indicated, do contact us now if this type of job is of interest - we may well have similar opportunities that you would be suited to. And of course, we always get your permission before submitting your CV to a company.
