This defence company is seeking a talented electronics engineer to join their team developing solutions for cyber security, radio communications and high-speed data processing. These are multidisciplinary projects and you will work closely with engineers and scientists with various backgrounds. This work is often classified, and you will need to qualify for a high level of security clearance (DV). At a minimum this typically requires being a British national and being resident in the UK for the last 10 years.
Responsibilities will include all aspects of PCB design from schematic capture through to fabrication and assembly via subcontractors; simulating and implementing signal and data processing algorithms in VHDL for FPGAs including network and RF interfaces; and writing supporting software, firmware, and drivers for both product functionality and test. As a senior member of the team, you will also take on certain project leadership roles and mentor junior colleagues.
Technical requirements:
- Strong expertise in at least one of the following:
- Complex PCB design
- FPGA development with VHDL
- Embedded software development with C/C++
- Excellent academic background with a 1st or 2:1 from a top university (UK top 10) in a relevant STEM subject and ideally a relevant PhD
You will be working out of an office to the north of Cheltenham with occasional trips to the company’s other office near London. With work primarily being defence-focused, hybrid and remote working are not possible so you will be in the office full time. Remunerations include 6-monthly salary reviews, annual bonus scheme and generous company pension contributions.
