Hardware Engineer (23807)

Hardware, FPGA, VHDL, SoC, PCB, DSP, RF, Embedded, C, C++, Defence

Our client is a leading technical consultancy (in Surrey, though commutable from Central London), working on a number of UK Government and defence-related projects. They are looking for hardware engineers to join their team of consultants.

With a handful of years’ commercial experience on top of a stellar academic background (1st/2.1 in a numerate subject from a top university, As and A*s at A-level and perhaps a PhD), you’ll have experience with a number of technologies and have spent time in multi-disciplinary or consultancy environments.

This company isn’t wedded to particular technologies, so a broad range of experience will be considered, though knowledge of many of the following would be particularly useful:

  • FPGA / VHDL and embedded C / C++ development, particularly in resource restricted environments;
  • electronics (particularly RF) and PCB design and layout (utilising OrCAD or similar);
  • network interfaces, Linux device drivers or other firmware;
  • analogue or digital signal and image processing;
  • creation of complete SoCs, including perhaps development of UI / front-end elements.

Working in modern offices filled with mod cons and amenities, the successful candidate will be self-starting and able to manage their own time and project load. This company promotes continuing career development, and candidates can expect to quickly move onto taking charge of projects and be encouraged to develop knowledge of new technologies and techniques. Further, on offer for the right person is an excellent salary package with top benefits.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the work carried out by the firm, this role is only open to UK nationals able to obtain the highest level of security clearance.
