Full Stack Linux Developer (24741)

Cambridge
to £40k DoE
Filled

Work on Linux Kernel, Web GUI, and everything in between!

This ambitious start-up has already licenced their technology to a major consumer electronics manufacturer, and are now looking to further improve their product with exciting new features. To support these plans, they are seeking a talented developer who wants to work across the full stack, with involvement in all facets of their technology. This would include Linux Kernel modifications, advanced build systems, networking protocols, algorithm development, and creating stylish user interfaces with front end technologies.

You will need to have a start-up mind-set, and a willingness to tackle whatever tasks come your way in this fun, "all-hands-to-the-pump", early-stage environment. As a key member of their small but growing team you will enjoy a high degree of creative input and ownership of your work. This would be a great opportunity for a bright and enthusiastic developer to broaden out their skillset by working with expert colleagues.

For a successful application you will need:

  • An excellent technical degree from a well-recognised university.
  • Proficiency in developing in a Linux environment, creating web applications using JavaScript and AJAX, scripting with languages such as Python, PHP or Lua.
  • An aptitude with C, C++, version control tools, RESTful APIs, and an understanding of internet protocols would be valuable but not essential.

Please note that you must be able to showcase your coding skills with examples of projects you have completed including source code via GitHub or similar.

Our client is located in a central location conveniently close to Cambridge city centre. As a recent start-up they are unable to offer sponsorship, so you will need full rights to work in the UK without restriction or time limit.

Interested? Send your CV to ECM Selection; whilst we can only put forward the top few candidates, we do read every CV and try to respond to everyone. Or recommend a friend for £250, details at http://ecmselection.co.uk/tell-a-friend.
