Fantastic opportunities with a leading biotech company

This established and successful biotech company is a world leader in developing automated processing and analysis products. They combine microfluidics, mechatronics and software in a powerful toolbox that is popular with scientists and researchers in both academia and industry. As they expand their product range and functionality, they have opportunities for a few exceptional software engineers to join their friendly, Agile team.

Candidates with a wide range of experience will be considered for this role, but our client is expecting to see CVs with a minimum of:

  • A strong academic background – a 2.1 Honours degree in computer science, engineering, or similar numerate subject from a top-ranking university;
  • Proven commercial experience in a modern development language – this company uses C# .Net, but C++, Java, or even Python or JS experience would be considered too;
  • An interest in a broad range of application areas, from desktop applications and UI, through to control systems, data processing and databases, and automation;
  • Expertise in modern Agile development processes, with use of source control (Git) and modern test and design methodologies.

Recent graduates may also be considered, but will need to demonstrate extensive hobby project experience, and likely relevant internships or gap year / year in industry placements. Candidates must already have existing permission to work in the UK without restrictions or limitations.

On offer for the successful candidates is the chance to work on novel and exciting products, and perhaps moving into a new field in biotech and engineering. The company has a friendly and progressive culture and is based close to Cambridge in an excellent location to commute by road, rail or bike, in modern and comfortable offices. A top salary and benefits package is available, commensurate with experience, and there are ample opportunities for personal development.
