High performance computing for a Cambridge Fintech start-up

A well-funded, internationally based fintech start-up is seeking a hands-on C and C++ developer to build rock-solid and highly optimised back end code to power their innovative financial services.

You would be working on the efficient implementation of advanced algorithms, creating code which is highly optimised for execution speed and parallel execution. The software will run on powerful Linux-based servers, crunching terabytes of stock market information daily.

The company’s culture is based around a flat hierarchy, with a strong emphasis on innovation. They use an Agile development process, and training in Agile is provided upon joining.

You would need:

  • Excellent commercial experience in C, C++, Linux, and preferably Python
  • Demonstrable, detailed understanding of how C and C++ operate at a low level, and how to build robust and efficient software
  • A 1st or 2:1 from a Russell group (or equivalent) university
  • Full right to work in the UK as our client is not able to sponsor

As a new start-up, this is not an opportunity to make you immediately wealthy, but bonuses could be substantial subject to the company’s performance. This is an excellent opportunity to join an exciting start-up at an early stage, and get into the finance sector.
