An essential role in a team working on machine learning and computer vision

A Software Engineer is sought for an innovative and disruptive Cambridge based company. The Software Engineer will join a team of creative problem solvers, working towards solutions in computer vision, machine learning and robotics.

Python and JavaScript are the preferred languages but experience in other programming languages, (together with talent, a desire to learn new technologies and the ability to quickly get up to speed) would be considered.

The Software Engineer would collaborate with teams of scientists and engineers, developing annotation software that will form the essential basis of their machine learning research. They will need to be able to work well within teams, happy to contribute their ideas and also willing to show their own initiative.

Minimum experience and skills necessary for this role:

  • A good technical degree (2.1 or above) from a well-respected university
  • An enthusiasm for programming that may spill over into your hobby projects
  • Experience with Python and JavaScript (although experience with other coding languages would be considered too)

Desirable qualities for the Software Engineer:

  • A mathematical bent with the ability to think and envision images in three dimensions
  • ES6 / React, Postgres, Docker, Kubernetes or AWS – Experience isn’t essential but the desire and ability to learn these technologies will be expected

Full permission to live and work in the UK without time limit, restriction or sponsorship will also be required.
