Hiring top inventive science/engineering graduates to collaborate on IP

This unique company employ engineers and commercially-focused scientists, developing patentable inventions for big name product companies worldwide. They develop intellectual property, not physical products – that’s left to their clients – and effectively offer “invention as a service”. Thanks to the unique backgrounds of their staff, they explore innovative areas which are novel compared to companies’ own R&D.

They are seeking skilled graduates and PhDs in engineering, applied physics, electronics, or product-focused sciences with outstanding knowledge (capability and intuition) of potential applications. You will be keen to apply those skills to the collaborative creation of new inventions. A knowledge of relevant areas of IP, especially patents, is beneficial.

You will have a first class education, industry experience with leading companies, and your CV will clearly show your abiding interest in technology and product design, including extra-curricular projects. You will be a creative person with an eye for detail, and an excellent communicator: you will co-present to client companies.

These are the kinds of inventors they have hired, all of whom have broad technical knowledge, not just in their specialist subject:

  • A Russell Group Engineering graduate (2:1 and A/A*) who also invented consumer products in their spare time
  • An applied Physics graduate (1st and A grades) with engineering consultancy internships
  • An Oxbridge Engineering graduate with commercial technology consultancy experience
  • A PhD cross-disciplinary biotechnologist with a product design focus

The company is headquartered in the EU, with UK staff distributed primarily around Cambridge and London. Remote working is possible but only if you will live close to Cambridge or London in the UK. In due course, several days a week, you should expect to be working from their Cambridge or London office. Travel is to be anticipated.

Interested? Send your CV to ECM Selection; whilst we can only put forward the top few candidates, we do read every CV and try to respond to everyone. Or recommend a friend for £250, details at http://ecmselection.co.uk/tell-a-friend.

Please note: even if you don't have exactly the background indicated, do contact us now if this type of job is of interest - we may well have similar opportunities that you would be suited to. And of course, we always get your permission before submitting your CV to a company.
