Inventor and IP Technologist (25783)
This unique company of engineers and scientists develop patentable inventions for big name product companies worldwide. They develop IP, not physical products – that’s left to their clients – and effectively offer “invention as a service”. Thanks to their unique backgrounds, they explore innovative areas which are novel compared to companies’ own R&D.
You will have an abiding love of technology. You understand how complex everyday devices work. You have intellectual curiosity, take things apart, and research new tech yourself, and not just in one field. You have spare time engineering projects, and your CV talks about these.
You have a sound and intuitive grasp of the electronics which underpins so much technology, including analogue and digital electronics, RF, comms, DSP... And, you keep up with the latest developments in these and other areas.
You have a first-class education, and studied engineering, applied physics, electronics or product-focused sciences to an advanced level. Most likely, you know a good amount about several of these.
You like to communicate with technical people. You can judge when the listener wants a high-level overview, and when they want to start talking about technical detail.
You will be keen to apply these skills to the collaborative creation of new and patentable inventions. You'll be able to identify the "inventive step" to which makes inventions patentable.
This is a chance for a unique and intellectually rewarding full time role, working with smart colleagues, inventing together. Business travel is likely, and up to 50% home working each week (100% in the short term) is possible, with the rest in their Cambridge or London offices.
