Practical Physicists sought to develop real-world solutions and products

This forward thinking and ethically aware company seek physicists who would enjoy a wide range of development work, encompassing medical, fluidics, and consumer technology products, to name but a few areas of interest. They are passionate about products that directly benefit people’s lives.

The work would involve investigating fundamental physics and engineering behind a variety of technical issues. This could be done by designing and carrying out experiments in their laboratory; designing and building bespoke test rigs, or by creating advanced mathematical models from first-principles calculations, and of course analysing and presenting your findings to clients and senior members of the team.

You may be a graduate with an excellent degree from a well-respected university and a few years of relevant commercial experience or you may have recently finished your PhD and are looking to make your move into the commercial world. Either way, you will have an insatiable appetite for learning and would enjoy working directly with clients.

This is a terrific opportunity to join an energetic team, who take career development seriously and have structured mentoring and personal training programmes. The company takes their ethical policy seriously and works hard to ensure all their employees enjoy fulfilling careers.

You will need the following skills and attributes for this role:

  • Practically minded and eager to investigate problems in order to fully understand them and develop real-world solutions
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team, expressing your ideas and progress clearly to clients and colleagues alike
  • A good physics degree or PhD in Physics from a well-respected university and excellent A-levels grades in STEM subjects
  • Relevant commercial experience or internships, especially involving work on regulated devices, would be a distinct advantage.

Full permission to live and work in the UK without time limit, restriction or sponsorship will also be required, as our client in unable to provide sponsorship.
