Writing GUIs for novel life science instrumentation using Python or C#

Have a look at this opportunity to join an exciting start-up venture as a Software Engineer. The company is developing a revolutionary technology for the life sciences industry, enabling cheaper and faster routes to development and improved outcomes for clinicians and researchers. Your role as the Software Engineer will be to develop applications and user interfaces for the instrumentation, writing in Python or C#.

You will work within a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers. Within the small team there is plenty of opportunity to get involved in complex sub-system design for a real-time application. Machine vision and image processing are used to automate the instruments.

The requirements are:-

  • 1st or 2.1 degree from a highly ranked university in software engineering, electronics engineering, computer science or physics; you may also have a PhD
  • Excellent programming skills using either Python and C, or C#
  • Appreciation of software development practices and working with instrumentation
  • An enthusiastic approach with a strong team-working ethic

Additional experience of image processing in real-time, or working with embedded processors and FPGAs is desirable.
