Software Engineer, 3D Geometry (26393)
We are seeking a mathematically talented software engineer to join a Cambridge development team, working on sophisticated 3D CAD / CAM applications for product design and manufacturing. This is an industry-leading and highly successful company with a global presence, but with a local office that has its own more informal character and culture.
From liaising with customers, researching and designing features and algorithms, to software development, and testing the final product, this role will keep you engaged with plenty of interesting mathematical challenges whilst building up your software skills.
Essential skills and attributes:
- A good academic background in a mathematical subject with a 2.1 or better STEM degree from a well-regarded university. An aptitude for 3D geometry, vector and matrix maths is a must.
- Strong coding skills – preferably in C++, but coding skills in Java, Python, Rust or a similar language will be considered.
- Familiarity with software engineering tools and practices, for instance version control and integrated development environments, will be needed.
On offer to the successful candidate are a competitive salary and benefits package. The role will be based in the team’s Cambridge office with some scope for hybrid working. This would be an excellent role for both an experienced developer looking to re-engage with their love of geometry or indeed a mathematically adept graduate looking to begin a career in software engineering.
