Developing new business relationships within engineering consultancy

Get into business development with this consultative technology company who operate at the forefront of product innovation. This is not a "telesales" role but an opportunity for someone with a suitably technical background to help a consultancy develop new business relationships amongst high profile corporate clients.

You’ll need a strong knowledge of, and interest in, technology and IP - which may come from a good degree qualification in engineering or applied sciences - and an energetic, positive outlook, along with a professional manner and a good work ethic. You may have prior experience in business development with a comparable consultancy. You’ll have excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken, and full UK work permission without time limit, restriction or sponsorship.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working as part of a small but growing business development team, in an established technology consultancy
  • Implementing strategic campaigns to develop new prospects
  • Researching organisations in order to understand the prospective client and key contacts
  • Working with the marketing team on outreach and relevant promotions and events

It is likely you will already have experience with one or modern SaaS platforms and/or technologies which apply to business development, such as Salesforce, LinkedIn and/or other helpful sources. You’ll certainly have good computer literacy including day to day proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the like.

Be part of a company with an established and household name client base and strong growth potential. Some hybrid working may be possible given 2-3 days per week in company offices in either Cambridge or London.

To be considered, send your CV to ECM Selection; we can only put forward the top few candidates, but do read every CV and try to respond to everyone. And of course, we always get your permission before submitting your CV to a company.
