Technical assistance to industry customers on Windows based technologies

This engineering company produce bespoke hardware and software that is used by industry around the world. Due to the complexities of integrating their products into customer hardware systems, they have a dedicated technical support team who provide training and first-hand help on any engineering issues. They are currently recruiting a Technical Support Engineer to join this team.

Activities as a Technical Support Engineer could include: onsite or remote training or assistance on a wide range of technology products; proactively problem solving through a methodical approach to resolving issues; Windows based systems administration; ensuring critical incidents are dealt with in a timely fashion; building strong relationships with customers.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a technical support role for hardware and software products.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Technical experience with Windows including installing programs, checking driver specifications and crash reports.
  • Further skills with programming (C#, C++, Python) and electronics testing would be highly desirable.

Applicants should have a degree (ideally computer science or electronics). Soft skills required include: good communication skills including customer empathy; and demonstrable organisation and time management skills. Additional (non-English) mainstream language skills would be desirable.

The role would be mostly based at their Cambridge office although hybrid working is possible. Further, occasional opportunities to travel to meet customers are available.
