Designing a nuclear fusion power facility

Do you know what inertial confinement fusion is? Did you study ICF at university? Maybe you have a master’s or PhD related to ICF? If so, this team wants to hear from you.

This group of scientists are developing an ICF based power plant and need bright physicists to help. Small scale experiments have already demonstrated the feasibility of their approach. Well-funded, they are now building a large-scale test machine and need your help to design the “target” geometry (the shape of the fusion chamber). You will be using cutting edge simulation software and your knowledge of ICF to improve existing designs and generate new designs which will then be manufactured and tested on-site.

On offer is a once in a lifetime opportunity to work on a groundbreaking machine that will bring the promise of cheap and clean power a huge step forward. You will be working alongside some of the smartest fusion physicists on the planet and have an almost unparalleled opportunity to learn and develop under their guidance. Sponsorship is available, so wherever you are, if you have the skills, please do apply.

Please note: even if you don’t have exactly the background indicated, do contact us now if this type of job is of interest – we may well have similar opportunities that you would be suited to. And of course, we always get your permission before submitting your CV to a company.
