Product Support Analyst (26965)

Use your analytical skills to help clients solve complex optimisation problems

This growing company helps clients to solve complicated logistical and operational trade-offs in energy production and trading. To help their growing customer base get the best from their mathematical modelling framework, they are seeking a candidate with a strong mathematical or analytical background, client-facing communication skills, and a motivation to help solve intricate logical problems.

As a Product Support Analyst, you would become a go-to expert on the company’s tools and algorithms, enabling you to verify that new calculations and user interface features are performing correctly, and that the software is correctly optimising solutions. You will share your expertise with peers and clients, creating documentation and training materials, and helping clients get the most from the available functionality by creating technical guides, delivering training, and assisting them when needed.
As your expertise develops, there is also scope to become more directly involved with clients’ own projects, or to progress into project management, or to help define the evolution of the product itself.

You will need:

  • A strong academic background in a highly numerate discipline such as Maths, Physics, or similar from a well ranked university and mostly A* or A grades at A level or equivalent baccalaureate results.
  • Strong logical reasoning skills, methodical approach, and attention to detail to enable you to trace complex issues to their root cause.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to rapidly understand complex subject matter.
  • Scripting skills, advanced spreadsheet skills, and knowledge of mathematical modelling approaches, and optimisation methods would be valuable but not essential.
