Test Technician - Mechanical (27197)

to £35,000 DoE + Benefits

Test cutting edge miniature mechanical devices

This high-tech design and manufacturing company is seeking a Test Technician to join their Test & Prototyping team. You will be conducting detailed testing of their cutting-edge designs operating at the micron scale, carrying out relevant analysis and writing formal reports. Your responsibilities will also include sourcing, assembly, and qualification of new test equipment and enhancing the test process through the company’s continuous improvement frameworks.

  • Sound mechanical test knowledge from a degree, apprenticeship, or through relevant commercial experience in a similar role
  • Good general understanding of laboratory practices, equipment, tools, jigs, and fixtures
  • Experience with report writing - ideally scientific test reports
  • Full unrestricted rights to work in the UK (sponsorship is not possible)
Whilst not required, experience using milling machines or lathes would be advantageous as a small amount of custom manufacturing is part of this role.

In the last few years this company has seen significant growth, recently moving to new (and considerably larger) premises. Despite this growth they have maintained their friendly and enthusiastic culture, where knowledge is freely shared, and individuals encouraged to grow and take on new responsibilities. Alongside the competitive salary are a variety of benefits including cycling facilities (showers and free cycle maintenance) and lunchtime leisure activities.
