Top graduates wanted for exciting and varied role in the defence industry

This well-established defence consultancy works closely with large defence firms and branches of the British government and specialise in tightly integrated hardware and software systems. While much of their works is kept secret communications and high-speed data processing (sensors data, images, audio, etc) are areas of expertise. With new challenges posed by sophisticated adversaries, the work done here is cutting-edge and offers a unique and rewarding environment to start a career in electronics.

You will be working on a variety of projects and technologies, from circuit and PCB design to signal processing algorithms in VHDL/Verilog and embedded C for microcontrollers. You will often be pushing designs to an extreme. The best possible performance to enable a new technique, or extreme low power to open a new use case. Each project will have its unique challenges, and inventing solutions will require deep technical understanding and tenacity. This company is looking for candidates to start in the summer of 2026.

Requirements:

  • 1st from a top university in Electronics or a related discipline supported by A*’s at A Level including Maths and Physics. Further postgraduate academic achievements (Masters, PhD, etc) will be well received.

  • FPGA development with VHDL/Verilog.
  • Circuit design and PCB layout.
  • Embedded software development in C or C++.
  • Sole British nationality with residence in the UK for the last 10-years. This position requires you to qualify for a high level of security clearance.

This position is fully office-based due to the high security requirements of the projects undertaken. This means no remote or hybrid work is possible. Instead, they offer flexible hours around core times and the ability to ‘bank’ extra hours in exchange for days off. As a long-established company they also offer a range of other benefits including a bonus scheme, EV car scheme, enhanced company contribution pension scheme and six-monthly salary reviews.

Please note: even if you don't have exactly the background indicated, do contact us now if this type of job is of interest - we may well have similar opportunities that you would be suited to. And of course, we always get your permission before submitting your CV to a company.
