Head of Engineering, Platform Automation (27745)
Reporting to the COO, you will work closely with other engineering heads to deliver innovative solutions that entwine software, hardware, robotics and cloud integration. You will be tasked to deliver on demanding project time lines, inspiring talented engineers in your team through clarity in judgement and implementation. You will have authority over mission critical decisions, having a significant impact for the company, hence contributing to strategy and execution.
As a hands-on organisational leader, you will stay close to the engineering team, providing clear input where needed to resolve ambiguity and technical discrepancies. You will set direction and priority, translating company strategy into actionable tasks. You will drive delivery, set engineering standards, and collaboratively lead the team to meet and exceed goals.
Requirements:
- With a background in platform engineering or platform automation, you will have a thorough understanding of relevant technologies. Moreover, you will have risen to a leadership role where you have worked with senior managers to improve delivery and organisational performance.
- You will have demonstrable project experience in robotic automation systems that incorporate electromechanical systems (sensors, controls, motors).
- You will have a good understanding of quality standards and know how to balance delivery with reliability.
- Due to the nature of the role, you will have impeccable communication skills with experience dealing with technical engineering teams as well as senior stakeholders including customers.
